CONCERT STRINGS (INTERMEDIATE ORCHESTRA)

Concert Strings are considered intermediate musicians who have had at least  one year of instruction.  Concert Strings members typically perform in five concerts each year.

Students should be able to play two octave scales up to 3 sharps and 3 flats and be able to perform up to level III string music. The course offers instruction in the development of intermediate performing skills, including individual playing and ensemble techniques. There are five concerts performed each year and usually 2 or 3 evening rehearsals before each concert. These rehearsals and concerts are required as part of the course. In the 2006/2007 school year, there were 30 students participating in this orchestra.

Concert Orchestra scored the coveted # 1 (Superior)           at District XII Orchestra Festival in March, 2008.
